Mosaics workshop
The art of mosaics is as modern as is it historical and one of the most beautiful art forms. Learn how to create pieces with an assemblage of coloured glass, stone and other materials. We’ll begin with small pieces to explore composition and practice gluing and grouting before progress to a larger project of your choice.

DRAWING - ALL STYLES AND MEDIA
Dabble in various styles and media as you develop your observation skills and increase your confidence in putting pen, pencil, charcoal and ink to paper. In this 3-week class, we will learn how to render the shapes, colours and light reflections to create the most dynamic drawings.

Intro to Reduction Lino Printing
Explore design and colour combinations for creating a small edition of prints.
In this class, we will create a multi-colored, layered print using a single print block. The reduction lino cut is a method of block printing in which each colour layer is taken from the same block. More lino is removed from the block for each layer and printed on top of the last. Make a plan and we can complete a small series of works using the press. You will learn the techniques of registering for progressive alignment.

Inspired by Gauguin
The current exhibition in Canberra is a celebration of Gauguin’s use of colour and imagery inspired by the various environments he lived in. Understanding colour combinations and why they work is often a mystery, so we will be investigating the colour theory behind these artworks. You will learn how to blend and mix colours using a limited palette. We will work from a range of subject matter, including still life and figures, while exploring acrylic painting techniques.

4 Weeks: 23rd, 30th Jul, 6th, 13th Aug

Ceramic Platters
Want to make your own unique clay pieces?
Join us for 5 weeks of learning hand building techniques and understanding how to manage clay and create unique platters. You will be able to explore and experiment with different surface decorating techniques such as sgraffito and underglazes to form your artworks. All pieces will be glazed and fired.

5 Weeks: 22nd, 29th Jul, 5th, 12th, 19th Aug

Reduction Lino Printmaking
Printmaking has many variations. Come and learn the basics of drawing a design, transferring onto lino and cutting out a plate to produce a fabulous print. You will be introduced to different tools and explore cutting techniques, applicable to your design. Over three Saturdays I will be taking you through printing several layers of colour to create a fabulous print. I will be introducing you to the variations in inks and papers which can make a huge difference to your work. I can’t wait to get started on this class.
Saturdays: 17th, 24th and 31st of August
The course runs for 3 weeks. 10-1pm

Do you want to go further with your artwork? Would you like to have an exhibition or develop a series of work? Or would you like help with your artist CV? This consultative offering is designed for you as a one-on-one coaching system. We’ll meet to discuss and identify your goals then work together to formulate a plan to achieve them.
