Still Life Painting
This is a great way to start the year.
Bring your objects along to compose a still life. We will play with shape and colour to complete several paintings using acrylic paint on canvas, over five sessions.

Drawing Buildings
On location, we will be out and about the CBD capturing the building in quick sketches, before developing the use of media further in the studio.
Drawing is so good for the brain. You will be amazed at your progress.

LINOPRINTMAKING
This technique is addictive. We can start from your design and develop the print using several layers of colour. There are many variables and I will take you through each step, so that you understand the process thoroughly. With a plan you can create a print using between 4 to 8 colours.

Ceramics - Hand built Bowls and Cups
You can explore and develop your hand building skills in this class. You will be working with pinch pots and coiling, which will lead to a wonderful series of objects over five sessions.
We will also coordinate your glazing to unify the set of objects.

Painting Techniques Inspired by Clarice Beckett
Understanding the techniques used by Clarice Beckett gives you the opportunity to work in the style and apply to your own compositions.
I’m looking forward to introducing the life and work of this artist, over 5 sessions. Make sure you view the Summer exhibition in Bowral (100 works from the NGA Collection)

FIGURE DRAWING
Learn the basics of human proportion and perspective through the practice of figure drawing.

BLUE SQUARE PAINTING DAY
Come and paint your entry for the Blue Square Art Prize.
This long-standing exhibition, started by Arthead, honouring the memory of Bob Millis, contributes funds for cancer research.
It is a relaxed day, painting together.

Sumi Painting with Stephen Carroll
Due to popular demand, he’s back.
Stephen Carroll is an expert in the traditions of Chinese and Japanese Sumi Painting.
He will guide you through the moves and harmonise your mind, body, ink and brush to work as one. The workshop imbibes a meditative experience to all who attend.

CREATIVE CLAY POTS
At Creative Space, we love hand building quirky pots with personality. Some even have faces. While still functional, we’ll be pushing into sculptural vessels, to see where this takes us.

ECO DYEING
Our research continues in the magical, mysterious world of eco dyeing. We will explore a range of fabrics, mordants and plants for the most effective results.
Natural dyes can come from a range of sources, including plants, but also soils. I can’t wait to see your results.

Inspired by Grace Cossington Smith
Grace was known for her extraordinary use of colour, developed through her travels and study of European Modernism. We will apply to our own compositions and adopt her application of paint.

COMPOSING AND PAINTING STILL LIFE
Using your own objects, we will design your unique still Life and use a range of media, from pastels to oil paints to complete your artworks.

Do you want to go further with your art practice? Would you like to have an exhibition or develop a series of works? Or would you like help with your artist CV? This consultative offering is designed for you as a one-on-one coaching system. We’ll meet to discuss and identify your goals then work together to formulate a plan to achieve them. A minimum of two sessions are offered to ensure adequate time for planning and follow up. Get in touch to see if this development opportunity is right for you.
